The ‘Doctor Foster Went to Gloucester’ Effect!

Hey Folks….

….and a good morning to you.

.

Yesterday was quite a busy one for a change.

We went to hospital in the morning and then had a look around the shops but I soon got bored with it.

I am looking to buy a shiny black down-filled jacket/coat, now that I have been so rudely reminded that winter is on the way and I am so not enjoying being cold again.

.

I have decided that as I am hating the shopping and sales, I will just go and look in TK Max now and again and something wonderful has a good chance of showing up sooner or later.

A sort of synchronicity, and if it does not turn up soon enough then I will die of cold and it won’t matter anymore.

.

How wonderful to be a Superstar or something and just say what you want and then someone will rush out and search until they find a selection for you to choose from.

Bliss!

.

Today we plan on going to do some garden trimming and tidying up, and we may have a bonfire, which will be great….and warm, if somewhat stinky.

.

Everyone assumes that gardening is a safe and tranquil pastime, but you cannot be too sure.

In Newhall, Derbyshire, fire crews were called in yesterday to rescue a man and his 2 year old son who were both trapped when an 8ft deep hole opened in their garden.

First the child fell in, and then the father also became trapped when he jumped in to try and rescue his no doubt terrified child.

They were eventually brought up from the 6ft wide hole by the fireman, who used their ladders, and luckily no-one was actually hurt by the experience.

.

It seems that the area is near to Swadlincote, which has a history of coal mining, so the

Coal Authority were told of the incident, and they quickly sent staff to render the area safe.

.

See.

You don’t have to take up extreme sports in order to make life interesting.

So you have an exciting day yourself….who knows what can happen when you least expect it!

J.

..by the way, I suppose I had better explain the title of this page in case you don’t recognise it..it is an old nursery rhyme..

.

Dr Foster went to Gloucester

In a shower of rain,

He fell in a puddle

Right up to his middle

And never went there again.

.

OK, OK, I know that you’ve got better things to do with your time….so go and do them!!!!
