The Man In The Real Dog Collar. And Patti Smith..

Hey,

.

The best of mornings to you.

.

It was wonderful when I got up this morning.  The bedroom was filled with light, even through the heavy bedroom curtains, just like a high summer day would be.

The sky was totally blue and everything was breathtakingly glowing.

Yes, okay, it did not last for very long at all, meaning that we are now back to a low and glowering dirty grey sky, which is making everything very dark again….but it has left me feeling immensley cheered up.

.

The weather could be better but it could also be far worse.

.

Big H and I seem to have been stuck in the house for so long that I think that I should do the typically British thing and go to a travel agents to get stacks of holiday brochures.

Then we can sit for hours in front of the fire and pick out lots of fabulous HOT places to visit at some future date.

.

Or we could take a quick weekend trip soon, just to experience a change.

.

Perhaps we could make another visit to Amsterdam.  The last one provided a lot of surprises and interest, as I previously described to you.

.

i did not tell you all of it though, so here is yet another memory.

.

We were walking along one of the streets fronting a canal.

The houses were all very picturesque, tall and narrow, with stone steps leading up to the front doors.

Everything was very well cared for and shiny with fresh paint.

.

As we walked past one particular house, my attention was caught when one of the doors opened and a man emerged.

He was probably in his thirties and dressed in black leather from top to bottom, ornamented with a certain amount of silver studding.

His short cropped hair was dyed an improbably bright blond which provided a startling contrast to the outfit.

He stopped as he went down the steps and turned his head back to the front door.

.

I noticed that he had an extended dog chain in his hand and wondered what sort of dog he was taking out.

.

The other end of the chain was certainly attached to a black leather dog collar, but it was fastened around the neck of a much younger, similarly attired younger man.

His hair also a shocking blond in a similar crop style.

.

This young man slammed the door and joined the older man on the pavement.

They then set off on their walk, the younger man obediently trotting along behind his ‘master’.

.

I was totally beguiled and no doubt there will be a painting produced at some time in the future depicting that memory.

All very Robert Mapplethorpe!

.

I really liked his work.

Very powerful stuff.

.

Did you ever  notice how Mapplethorpe and his sometime lover and friend Patti Smith looked just like twins.

Perhaps it is only me who thinks so but I don’t think I can be the only one who sees it,

He was also a homosexual of course, dying of aids on March 9th  1989, which was probably the driving force behind his very strong black and white S&M photography.

I have always found Patti smith to be very beautiful as she is entirely herself and original looking.

.

She also is a good subject for a painting , as well as being a great singer and a poet.

.

Patti singing Because the night.

This was later covered by Bruce Springsteen and 10K Maniacs…but her version is best!
.

.

.

.

I have forgotten what I began writing about now but I don’t have time to worry about it because I need to rush as there is a lot to do today.

.

Enjoy your own day!

.

LOL
