Thursday Is Here Again.

What a beautiful morning it was today.
.
I arose early to find brightness and sunshine, which has now degenerated back into greyness and rain, but at least you don’t have time to get bored with the weather up here.
.
Talking about being bored, it was most exciting seeing the effects of the eclipse last night.
Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy, but the moon was very very different to it’s usual self.
.
It is scary to think how dire a portent that sort of thing must have been seen as throughout our world’s history.
I wonder how many sacrifices of both animals and humans must have been offered to placate the various Gods and to make everything return back to normal once more.
It must have been terrifying for people then to think that they were to blame for such an angry display of terrifying power.
.
This is indeed a most beautiful world that we have.
A real wonder.

Today promises to be a quiet and industrious one for us, with no visits from various workmen, gas engineers or men carrying out the yearly boiler insurance maintenance checks.
So far it has been a bit like Newcastle Station on one of it’s busier times.
.
Yesterday I began painting the kitchen because it has been looking a bit tired for some time.
Last time did it out, I painted everything a bright and clean white, but unfortunately it did not look in the least bit warm or cosy.
Surgical is not really a good look, so this time I have picked a Dulux barley white instead, and it looks a bit more welcoming….and a lot more yellowy!

At least when you redecorate a room you feel that you have achieved something beneficial, and it should cheer Big H up to see that stuff is being done even if he cannot do it himself at the moment.
Roll on the Growth Hormone, it should surely be beginning soonish!

My oh my, during the time that I have been writing this the sun has emerged once more and there are encouraging patches of blue sky shyly emerging.
If I am lucky there could be a leisurely walk in the sunshine ahead of me.
