Troubled World.

Hey,

.

Greetings to you on a brilliantly sunny Friday.

Once more there is light and heat here so we are feeling cheery again….quite apart from the fact that the weekend is always welcome.

.

I am feeling a bit frustrated though, because a friend who lives in France sent me a hilarious e-mail yesterday, which I have been trying to put into a blog so that you could have a good laugh too, but I cannot do it properly.

Once I have calmed down I will have another try or even pester Big H for assistance when he gets up.

Then we can begin what I hope will be a pleasant day, with perhaps an enjoyable walk during some part of it.

.

I am so grateful to be living here in England, where life is so ordered and calm, especially when you read about the ongoing problems in other parts of our world.

News reports state that trouble is flaring up again in South Africa.

I was reading about the tensions there as two farm workers have been arrested for the murder of 69 year old Eugene Terre’Blanche.

As the two men aged 28 and 15 were taken to court in Ventersdorp a crowd of about 500 black onlookers were gathered behind razor wire chanting “Hero, Hero.”

.

Mr Terre’Blanche was the founder of the far right wing Afrikaner Weerstands Beweging (AWB).

He was found murdered in his bed at his farm, by assailants who had used clubs and machetes.

The arrested men had been workers at the farm and said that there had been an argument about  wages.

.

The murdered man had been a leader of a party which was totally opposed to the ending of racial apartheid and white supremacy, and which he began in 1970.

In 1994 Nelson Mandela came to power.

Since apartheid ended there has been a frightening situation for white farmers in South Africa as about 3,000 have been murdered.

Mr Terre’Blanche served time in prison for attempted murder of a black security guard, being released in 2004.

.

Last year he started up the AWB again to try and force secession from South Africa, and engineer the formation of an independent homeland with English as an accepted language.

.

Jacob Zuma, the President since May, is now trying now to placate Afrikaners and quell their fears.

.

Let’s hope that somehow the situation improves for both the black and the white people who belong there.

Thank God I don’t!

.

Sorry that this blog was not the good laugh I originally intended it to be!

Have a marvellous day yourself.

J,x.
