Umbrellas At The Ready.

I hope that you are well today and that you are having a passable Wednesday.
I like Wednesdays.
.
We are having a small window of watery sunshine here along with a very grey sky.
Yesterday we had a real deluge of rain.
It started suddenly mid-afternoon and was unbelievably heavy, with drops hitting the ground so fiercely that they were bouncing back up to an amazing height.
Within minutes the street was awash with water and it was in fast flowing streams along the gutters, forcefully washing along all of the various bits of detritus that it met on it’s way.

There were poor people dashing around on the street, trying to get home or find shelter, while others had become so quickly soaked through that they had given up on hurrying and were strolling along at their usual pace looking like drowned rats.
.
As we stood, marvelling, at the sudden darkness and the power of the rain, we were treated to the most amazing lightening and heavy metal thunder.
.
I just love it when we get weather like that, it shows us how powerful nature actually is, although we keep imagining that we are in total control of everything in our modern society.
.
Afterwards, when the rain grew less and the sky lightened we were treated to the sight of clean streets, gleaming roofs and sparkling brickwork.
Amazing….and of course my plants were happy too!
