Unbearable Cruelty In Abattoirs.

Videos have been released by Animal Aid which were taken during some covert filming in many abattoirs in the UK.

The most recently taken video showed a slaughter man gratuitously inflicting terrible suffering upon pigs, which are shown being given repeated shocks with stunning prongs.
Although these prongs are solely meant to be used to hold a pig’s head with the scissor jaws, whilst an electric shock to the brain stuns it prior to the throat being cut, this is not what is happening to these unfortunate animals.
A man is shown using the device to inflict shocks to the animals’ snouts and ears etc, and even in the pigs’ mouths, while they are fully conscious of all that is being done to them while they suffer the pain.
Other animals did not recieve a sufficient shock and were semi-conscious during the following slaughtering process.
Squealing animals were also kicked in the face by this man and his workmates.
That film was obtained in Essex.

This has led to some abattoir staff having their slaughtering licences suspended or to them being taken away altogether.

Animal Aid obtained their films by sneaking into abattoirs during the night, in order to fit minute cameras in the slaughtering areas, and then returning at a later date to retrieve them, along with their damning contents.

The seven sites that were chosen, were apparently just picked at random, to give an overall picture of the general industry standards.
In six of them there were serious breaches of treatment and even instances of sadistic cruelty.
Owners later said that they were horrified by the film and glad that the matter had been brought to their attention.
