Unexpected Pleasures.

Hi Peeps,

.

Monday again.

It comes around so regularly.

.

Yesterday was mostly a quiet one, spent indoors with the newspapers, the whiskey, and two ‘not in the least bit successful’ lottery tickets.

Shame that, I could have been jetting off to somewhere utterly beguiling at this very moment, but it was not to be.

But life is like that.

.

It’s like Saturday night.
We were going to go to Hexham to watch the municipal bonfire and listen to the music etc, but it was raining here, so we decided not to go at the last minute.
.
Not a terrible decision as it turned out because halfway through the night all of our neighbours seemed to decide to have an impromptu party.
.
It ended up with the night being filled with the loud crumps of various fireworks going off around us, along with the awed ‘Ohhh’s’ of the various observers.
It was fantastic, with beautiful colours exploding everywhere, visible from every direction.
.
Some of the fireworks must have cost a fortune because they were shooting up into the sky as golden trails, then hanging suspended there, before suddenly expanding into huge dandelion heads that slowly drifted back down.
.
I am sure that lots of observers must have been frantically taking photos to save the moments, but I preferred just to absorb it because a small photo could not really do it all justice, you really need the noise and that peculiar gunpowdery smell too.
.
Next day when we went out for a walk the ground looked as if it was covered with 1p pieces.
This was puzzling until I suddenly realized that it was obviously the tops of all of the Saturday fireworks.
.
So it all worked out well after all.
Big H did not have to drive, or stand about getting cold, as that always affects him badly.
We did not go out and get wet either, but we still had a lovely sparkly evening together.
.
I hope that you had a good weekend too, and that you enjoy your day.
LOL,
J,x.
