What A Scary Start to The Day.

Hi,

.

What a bloody day!

.

Big H had to be rushed to hospital by emergency ambulance early this morning because he was very ill.

.

The day was spent with examinations, questions, X-Rays and tests.

Everyone concerned could not have been kinder, or more caring and sympathetic, to us all.

.

He is obviously going to be there for some time as they try to stabilise him, but hopefully the worst is over now.

I am just pleased that we were having family to visit for the holiday and they were there to advise and support me.

It is wonderful to have help making decisions about how to cope and do the right thing in such an emergency.

.

I am shattered because I got very little sleep last night, so I am now retiring to my hopefully ready-warmed bed for a good kip.

I hope that tomorrow will be better.

.

Take care yourself and have a very good day!

      Hi Nelly,
      .
Thank you for your concern….you are extremely sweet.
      .
Big H has had amazingly good treatment at the hospital, everyone was wonderful and very concerned for him there.
      .
It turned out that he had caught some infection, which had been too much for him to cope with in his condition.
      .
Apparently the dosages of hormone he was prescribed get used up very quickly in such circumstances, and then there is no natural replacement with extra amounts such as you would get with a normal person, because he cannot manufacture any himself.
      .
We thought he was just going into another of his exhausted phases, but this one was very different, and soon became life threatening.
      .
Luckily I was not allowed to dither this time because there were other, more authoritative people in the house, and they realised how serious it was, and promptly called the emergency services.
      .
He was given monster amounts of hormones and tested for all sorts of infection and eventually everything was brought under control.
It has finally brought home to both of us how potentially serious his condition is.
      .
I went to see him again today and he is so much better, now that they are getting him back into balance again.
They say he may be able to come back home soon as long as his latest tests are OK.
      .
I feel shattered, but happy that he is going to be fine.
      .
Thank you again for your concern.
I hope that all is going well for you and that all of YOUR surprises have been good ones.
