Whether The Weather.

Hey,

.

Another grey and dismal day again here, roll on summer, or at least the rather reserved version of that season which we experience up here.

At least , at the very worst, it should be warmer.

.

Yesterday, when the dense fog seemed to finally life, Big H suggested thet we go to town and find me another present tp replace the incredible shrinking dressing gown that we had to return to the store.

Although I hate slogging around the shops I agreed to do so when he added the offer of a visit to Tynemouth for some Marshall’s fish and chips to the mix.

.

Tynemouth was looking very dramatic, with low, turbulent skies roiling over the choppy grey sea, accompanied by huge waves crashing onto the empty beach.

We had a quick look at the scene but were quickly driven back to the car by the slanting rain and ferocious cold.

Beautiful, but not inviting without total Arctic gear!

.

The waitress that we like at Marshall’s told us that she seems to spend all her daylight hours working in th restaurant and to add insult to injury she heard on the weather forecast that next week is going to be blizzards.

WHAT!!!!

How rubbish is that!

.

Later we arrived in town for the ‘replacement present’ shopping.

As it turned out, it was very short lived, but very successful.

.

Our first port of call was a big department store so I went to look in the jewellery department while Big H had a quick peep in the Games section before we began seriously looking around.

.

When Big H came to collect me he decided to buy me some really beautiful earrings that he saw…..so I let him!

I was very contented with his choice too.

.

That took off all the strain of shopping so then we just wandered around for a while before he got tired again.

After that we made our way to the fifth floor of the  big parking building, and set off for home and another quiet evening watching films.

.

It was a good job that we did not leave it any later because the thick fog was back and we could not see more than a few feet in front of the car on the last leg of the journey home again.

.

The evening went as planned until we finally retired to our toasty hot bed for a welcome night’s sleep.

.

I wore my earrings all night because I did not want to take them off!

As you do!

.

As Big H got tired out yesterday, we will probably have a very quiet day at home, reading the Sunday papers and doing the various Crossword and Sudoku puzzles….and then I might do some artwork later on.

That will be a fine, but very quiet sort of day, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I often think that we should appreciate just having a safe place to be….much more then we ever do….see poem ‘A Safe Place‘.

.

I hope you are satisfied with your own Sunday, whatever that turns out to be like.

.

LOL

Jx.
