So Whomsoever The Slipper Fits.

Hi,

.

It looks like a bright day again here, with pale blue skies, ribboned clouds, and hazy sunshine.

It could go either way but it is still cold.

Brrrrr!

.

Life is going well here and we are still waiting for the test results to arrive sometime this week.

That will be interesting to say the least.

.

At the weekend, a friend of mine called to bring me an old feather fascinator of hers, because she thought that it might look good on my re-vamped nylon wig.

It is nice when people try to help with things that way.

.

Yesterday I finally had time to look her offering and see if it was of any use.

The feathers were no good, because the glue must have been deteriorating, and all of the feathers were falling off the comb at the back.

.

There was, however, a glittery rose stuck onto the comb and held in place with a black nylon wire with beads placed on it at intervals.

I removed the flower, straightened out about 18″ of usable wire, and threaded the flower onto the back of the wig to cover the one remaining darker patch.

.

Although I was expecting my effort to look a bit dubious at best, it actually looked rather fetching.

It is fancy dress after all, so I left it on.

After all they used to put feathers and clips and all sorts of decorations onto their wigs in those days didn’t they!.

.

All we need now are a few little bits and bobs to totally finish off our outfits properly.

.

I have actually managed quite well with the problem of shoes for myself.

As I was in town I visited TK Max for a quick look at their clearance items in the hope of finding some weird designer shoes with cuban heels and a very high tongue, hopefully in a girly pastel colour….or brocade.

.

What I actually found was a pair of high ankle boots in black suede, with an almost four inch heel, and a laced up front.

They also had a disgusting faux-leather piece sewn around the top of the ankle with nasty cheap-looking buckles on them.

They were £9-50p, with lots of stickers on them, to show the ever-reducing price of the obviously unwanted and unappealing items.

Ker-Ching….a sale was made!

.

I also called in at a haberdashery shop, to make a small purchase on the way back home.

.

When I got home I removed the faux leather immediately….Urghhh!

.

I then removed the black laces….the boots have a 7 hole lacing….with a further two inches unlaced at the top….where the strap and buckles were sewn on.

Then I put the red ribbon (from the haberdashery) onto the bottom two holes and fastened a BIG bow, another BIG bow into the next four holes, then into the next four, then the next four.

Although I say so myself, it looks cool and flirty….and quite the thing.

.

Perhaps more Folie-Bergere than anything else, but sort of suitable.

Actually, I suppose that I should have gone for a look in the excellent shop in Durham that Johnny Depp‘s Dresser was said to go to!

But I am content.

.

All we need now are opaque white stockings for each of us, and some white make-up.

We can put on the beauty spots with black eyebrow pencil if I cannot find any velvet ones for us.

.

Now I can finally relax and just look forward to the experience.

Snow staying away, in order to permit us to travel of course.

.

So, off to face the day, beginning with toast and Marmite accompanied by yet another big cup of tea.

.

Have a good one yourself!

J,x.
