Wot….no rain!!!

Hello,

.

Up early once more here ‘Up North.

I don’t know why, but it may be the total absence of drumming rain.

.

Yes, I kid you not, all is drier and a lot more silent today, but it is still a very dark morning with very heavy cloud….which promises that this seeming end to the monsoon is actually just a cruel trick.

Bum!!

.

I think that we will be having a quiet day today, after all of the ‘medical excitement’ of yesterday’s hospital visit.

Luckily, all is continuing to go well with Big H, but we still worry each time because things could always be found to have changed.

.

The ‘good’ thing about someone having a life-threatening type of condition is that it really fixes your mind upon the wonder  of just being alive each day.

It is a lot harder to take life for granted when someone around you is only kept alive because of the march of modern medication.

.

It is so easy to become so wrapped up in the minutiae of modern life, and it’s particular pressures, that we can forget to take joy in the passing moments and their pleasures.

.

I am relieved now just to wake up each morning and find that all is still well with Big H.

It certainly does centre the mind wonderfully on what is important.

.

Of course, he can still be an irritating old bastard, but you cannot have everything!!

.

Suddenly, I am aware of the birds, giving it large with their raucous dawn chorus, so we must be approaching a more usual time of the morning to be ‘up and about’ the place.

Now I am thinking about breakfast and comparing the various attractions of Marmite on toast, porridge with thick Greek yogurt, or a toasted potato pancake….plus yet another huge cup of black tea.

.

Ermmmm….ermmmm….I think that the Marmite and toast has won the race for first place at breakfast.

So toast it is, and those noisy crows will get a few slices too!

.

And so, the day has begun and I am off to the kitchen poste haste.

.

Have yourself a good weekend ‘cos you will never have the chance to enjoy this particular one again.

J,x.
