X Factor 4

Hi Folks,

.

I have just had my weekly dose of X Factor.

.

What is it with this new series!  I am finding that it is not quite so compelling at the moment.

Perhaps the idea of holding the auditions in a big theatre, with the audience of 2000, has somehow changed the dynamics of it all.

Perhaps the mix on the panel is wrong.  I like the girls but they are perhaps too anodyne for the show.

.

I think that what might be missing is the presence of a music industry mover and shaker, someone who has equal clout with Simon, and who is not afraid to say exactly what they think too.

Sharon Osbourne could be quite annoying at times, but she definitely added a sharper vibe to the proceedings, and she was often totally right in her opinions.

.

I must also admit to quite liking David Guest when he was helping judge on these sorts of panels.  He proved to be both likeable, funny and different.

Did He and Malandra ever get married.  I hope so!

.

And then there is David Hasselhoff. The man exudes such total self belief, in public anyway, that he is quite compelling to watch, and very good looking for his age too.

What about the Great Game Question with regard to him?

It is not yet decided.  I would agree that he can be a bit cheesy, but as you know I can be very partial to a nice bit of cheese.

.

Hopefully the programme will improve again over time.

.

As usual, it seemed to be London that provided most of the talent.  No wonder they keep mixing up the venues every week.

It was London that turned up my favourite  for the week, and it was Ollie from Essex.

I was not really taken with him in the pre- audition talk but once he got onstage he shone.  I don’t think that he will be answering phones for much longer unless he somehow cocks it all up

I liked his whole cool vibe and his stage presence, sort of like a more cool Justin Timberlake.

There was something American about him, in my opinion,

.

Loved his moves.

.

What about Diana and her non-singing, vicious dog called Jazz.  Loved it.

Also from Glasgow was a guy called Ricky, who is taking a second shot at the competition.

I found that his eyebrows commanded all of my attention, most unusual, and didn’t he remind you of Leonardo De Caprio in a sort of home- knitted way?

.

Lydia, Alistair and Heshima were were promising, as was Shanna Goodhead, but personally I enjoyed watching Simon Cowell the most.

In his case the answer to The Great Game Question is still YES.

.

As for the answer to The second Question.  The jury is still out.

.

Bye,

J
